On September 27, 2006, more than 100 law enforcement personnel from agencies throughout the west metro area – representing tactical teams, incident commanders, victim advocates and investigators – responded to Platte Canyon High School. These same people have joined forces with The "I Love U Guys" Foundation to remember Emily and to raise money for The Foundation's philanthropic efforts.
The Park County Sheriff's Office is hosting the ER::5K on September 27, 2008, the anniversary date of the shooting. Everyone is invited to join law enforcement officers and other first responders for this 5K memorial run.
This year's ER::5K begins and ends at Platte Canyon High School, with a shuttle taking participants to a starting point along County Road 64, which is unpaved and offers agreeable views along the way.
Registration is $15. Participants are encouraged to ask friends and family to sponsor them to raise additional funds.
Proceeds will be used to support local programs, and will be distributed responsibly and effectively toward the stated goals of The "I Love U Guys" Foundation.

Logistics
ER::5K participants meet at Platte Canyon High School, parking near the football field on the south side of U.S. Highway 285. Runners and walkers will be shuttled to the starting point.
There is a $15 registration fee. Register and check in near the parking area from 8:30 to 10AM, when the last shuttle leaves for the starting point. The ER::5K begins at 10:30AM, ending at Platte Canyon High School where food and refreshments will be available.
Emily's Run coincides with "Emily's Parade - From Columbine to Canyon" — a motorcycle ride beginning at Columbine High School. Both the Run and the Parade will ultimately converge at Platte Canyon High School.
